The Disciplinary Process โ Step by Step
- Investigate: Gather facts, interview witnesses, review evidence
- Show cause letter: Written letter clearly stating alleged misconduct, requesting response within 48โ72 hours
- Disciplinary hearing: Formal hearing โ employee may be accompanied by colleague or union rep
- Deliberate: Consider employee's response โ do not decide before the hearing
- Decision: Written decision with reasons โ warning, demotion, suspension, or dismissal
- Appeal: Inform employee of right to appeal
