Uganda's Agro-Input Market
Uganda's agro-input market โ covering seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides, and agricultural equipment โ is one of the fastest-growing segments of the agricultural economy. With the government's push to increase agricultural productivity, increasing farmer awareness, and growing NGO and donor-funded input subsidy programmes, the demand for quality agro-inputs continues to expand across all districts of Uganda.
The national agro-input dealer network is coordinated through the Uganda National Agro-Input Dealers Association (UNADA), which represents over 3,000 licensed agro-input dealers across Uganda's districts.

- Agent/last-mile model: Recruiting village-level agents who sell on commission to farmers โ reaches remote areas without fixed infrastructure
- Credit model: Providing inputs on credit to farmers, collecting payment after harvest โ high risk but drives volume
- Digital integration: Working with platforms like Apollo Agriculture, Tulaa, or similar digital agri-finance companies to reach more farmers
